  1. Thank you for trying the ReSize Custom Control.
  2.  
  3. To install ReSize on your system follow the procedure below:
  4.  
  5. 1. Create a directory such as C:\ReSizOCX and place the following
  6.    files in it:
  7.  
  8.    ReSize16.OCX
  9.    ReSize32.OCX
  10.    ReSizOCX.HLP
  11.  
  12. 2. Place the file MFC40.DLL in your Windows system directory.  The
  13.    32 bit version of ReSize requires a newer copy of this file than
  14.    the one that ships with Visual Basic 4.0.  You may overwrite your
  15.    old copy of MFC40.DLL or rename it to something else (ie. MFC40.OLD)
  16.    if you want to be safe.
  17.  
  18. 3. The very first time you run ReSize you must cause it to be
  19.    registered on your system.  Bring up Visual Basic and select
  20.    "Tools" from the menu line. Now select "Custom Controls". Next
  21.    select "Browse" and then select ReSize16.OCX or ReSize32.OCX
  22.    from the directory you placed them in in step 1 above.  You will
  23.    select ReSize16.OCX or ReSize32.OCX depending on which version
  24.    of Visual Basic 4.0 you are running (16 or 32 bits).

  26. 4. The very first time you try to access the on-line help for ReSize,
  27.    the system should prompt you and ask you to help it find the help.
  28.    Direct it to the directory you created in step 1 above.

  30. Once you have completed the steps above, it should not be necessary
  31. to register the controls or locate the help file the next time you
  32. run Visual Basic.  This information should now be recorded in your
  33. system registry.

  37. ReSize is very easy to use.  Simply place a resize control on a form
  38. in your Visual Basic application and all controls on that form will
  39. resize proportionally as the form is resized.  ReSize is an invisible
  40. control that works with the other controls in your application, but
  41. it doesn't need to contain them as children. Adding a ReSize control
  42. to your application is about as easy as it gets.  Just place one
  43. anywhere in your form (no code to write and not even a single
  44. property to set). ReSize will also resize the fonts used in each of 
  45. your controls as they change in size and position.
  46.  
  47. Each form in your application will need a separate resize control.
  48. In no case should you include more than one resize control on a form.
  49. ReSize can easily be added to your existing applications -- just drop
  50. it in.
  51.  
  52. Be sure to check out the SMPL1 program which illustrates the
  53. capabilities of the ReSize custom control.

  58. Registered users of ReSize receive the current version of ReSize, 
  59. version updates, support via CompuServe (70555,312@compuserve.com), 
  60. the ability to operate the control outside of the VB development 
  61. environment, and the right to redistribute the runtime only version
  62. of ReSize royalty free.

  64. ReSize is available as both a VBX and an OCX.  Each is sold separately.

  75. There are three ways you can register your copy of ReSize:

  78.          or traditional mail.
  79.       3. Register by check or money order by traditional mail.

  81. Please note that the reference numbers used to order 
  82. from Compuserve and those used to order by credit card from PsL 
  83. are not the same.

  89. the ReSize VBX or #11137 to register the ReSize OCX.  Your 
  90. CompuServe account will be charged for the cost of ReSize and 
  91. you will be sent ReSize by CompuServe Email. This is the fastest 
  92. way to get a registered copy of ReSize.

  187. ReSize is distributed as shareware and is copyright protected.  You
  188. may freely distribute and use the shareware version of ReSize subject
  189. to the following limitations.
  190.  1. The shareware version of ReSize will only operate in Visual Basic
  191.     design mode. You may not alter the program to do otherwise.

  193.  2. You may not charge a fee for the shareware version of ReSize.
